Where can I get an online Master's degree in Accounting

Where can I get an online Master's degree in Accounting?
Right now I have plenty of time to focus on the degree and would like to see if I can complete the program in 3-6 months rather than the customary 1-2 years. I have a financial background, but no accounting. Where should I look to find this? Obviously I also want a good education.

There is no Master's degree you can finish in that period of time, unless you do a mail order scam. In addition, the Master of Accountancy is generally not necessary for working in the field, and very few institutions offer it. What you are probably looking for is an MBA with an accountancy focus, since that is the more common route. If you have no background in accounting, you are going to have a very difficult time being accepted to a reputable graduate program. Graduate programs require you to have at least some undergraduate work or relevant experience in the field. Also keep in mind that most reputable on-line MBA programs are geared towards mid-career working professionals. I would urge you to enroll in some introductory accounting courses at your local community college and get those under your belt before you consider doing anything else. (As someone planning on going into accounting, surely you understand how important it is to find out whether something is a worthwhile investment!) Then you can start thinking about MBAs; I'm assuming you already have a Bachelor's. Some programs you may want to consider for an on-line MBA in accounting are Regis University ( http://www.mbaregis.com/degrees-fin-acct.php ), UMass-Lowell ( http://www.umassonline.net/degrees/Online-Degree-Master-Business-Administration-Lowell.cfm ), Drexel University ( http://www.drexel.com/ ), University of Maryland-University Campus ( http://www.umuc.edu/programs/grad/msafm ; it's an M.S. degree), or Western Governors ( http://www.wgu.edu/business/master_business_administration_degree ). Note that most of them also offer on-line Bachelor's degrees in accounting. You should not go anywhere *near* the University of Phoenix, Kaplan, Penn Foster, or any other for-profit enterprises like those.
