I personally against MBA and ideally, one should do specialisation in one topic and then do the MBA. Please note that MBA from the tier 1 university always been ahead from others and at the same time MBA from other univ is as bad as studying in 3rd world univ. I would say that try to get into top tier univ and do your mba. it will pay you off. you can select the univ with your own ranking. and that ranking should include; 1. your personal preference 2. reputation 3. return on investment 4. student-teacher ratio 5. salary increment after graduation blah blah... best of luck

I would recommend getting your MBA. It will give you more opportunities once you have completed your degree and it will give you a better chance of getting a higher position. There are also programs out there that allow you to get your MBA in a little over a year. It called an amMBA. I just went through the same search process and found a good program. http://www.adelphi.edu/manhattan/business.php

We get this question a lot. In one of our podcasts, we actually interviewed some faculty at some of the top business schools on what they would suggest. Here's a quick description of what the podcast is about: Like anything else in life, there isn’t a single road to a career in Business and Finance. Getting a Master’s in Finance or Economics is, of course, one way; getting an MBA is another. Fiona Sandford is Director of Career Services at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She says the MBA track or the Master’s in Science track can lead to the same career but using different approaches. “The traditional MBA course exposes you to a wide range of management disciplines, and gives you a way of thinking about management and a career in that area. An MSc in Finance or an MSc in Economics gives you a very rigorous academic approach to finance disciplines or to economics. But it doesn’t, by any stretch of the imagination, preclude you from going on to developing a career in Management as many students do. So I think it depends on individual learning styles.” Listen to the full interview at http://www.mbapodcaster.com/MBA_MoreInfo/MBAvMSF.asp?iEpisode=12. We also have another podcast that will help you understand what to expect from an MBA with a concentration in accounting: http://www.mbapodcaster.com/MBA_MoreInfo/PartIIIVariousMBATracks.asp?iEpisode=43 Good luck! -MBA Podcaster

Which US graduate schools offers master degree in accounting to international students who has a GPA of 2.91

Which US graduate schools offers master degree in accounting to international students who has a GPA of 2.91?
I did some research and it appears that all Master in Accounting program in the US required a 3.0 GPA in their undergraduate studies. Anyone know which grad school do not require a 3.0 GPA. Thank you.

yes fau will accept you but you need a high gmat score to make up for it http://www.fau.edu

Yes some school accepted GPA of 2.91 however it might be easier to go to a community college and then switch to a 4-year college. That way the school would only look at your grades from the community college and not high school.

Forensic accounting is more proper to be used in an investigative/ audit work as it involves drilling through series of transactions, documents, activities that the suspect were trying to do to hide the real nature of the transaction. You can try applying for a back office-accounting role/ credit analyst/ internal audit.
