Can I delete My PS3 Master Account and Still have my sub accounts

Can I delete My PS3 Master Account and Still have my sub accounts? I wanted to change my online ID for the playstation network because my brother came up with a really stupid name and I was wondering if deleting my master account can delete the other accounts. Just to to account settings and then go to manage sub accounts. If you can infact delete sub accounts than it will be listed in there.
