| Master in Accounting at Devry, my only option? I graduated from one of the UC (University of California) campuses with GPA very close to 2.0. I know such a low GPA won't find me a good job (or even decent one) so I decided to pursue on Master's degree. Currently, I am planning to attend Keller Graduate School (DeVry) since all traditional schools that I applied rejected me. Is this a good idea? I heard tons of negative opinions about this school so I'm kinda worried about my future employment. I'm going to major in Accounting and take CPA exam afterwards. Will Bachelor at UC + Master at Devry + passing CPA exam look better or worse on my resume? Please give me some advise if there's any other option, degree, or institution I should pursue. Higher Education (University +) - 1 Answers Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions : 1 Having the CPA credential will help you professionally, but I wouldn't rule out going into the workforce first. A masters' from a less reputable institution and little to no work experience will not make you significantly more attractive to employers than your bachelors', and any added debt will mean you have to be even less picky about what you take. Given time to gain experience, and possibly some continuing education courses at a community college, you'll look more attractive to traditional schools. Also bear in mind, you can leave the GPA off your resume; you may get asked about it, but you may not - and if you are, you can always outline your career plan to show that you are driven. |
